Wiki race with friends
Open a room, send the link, and race your friends, your class or your team on the same two Wikipedia articles. Everyone plays in the browser, on a phone or a computer. No app and no account needed.
- Open a room. Pick the two articles, or let us pick them.
- Share the link or the code. Anyone with it can join.
- Start together. Fewest links wins; time breaks a tie.

Put a pair on the TV, everyone races on their phone, and the slowest picks the next pair. Five minutes a round, and the routes people take are half the fun.
In the classroom
Students join with a code on any device, no accounts. Pick two articles from your lesson and talk through the routes afterwards. Read the teacher's guide.
On a video call
Share the link in the chat. Everyone sees how many links the others have used while they race, and the standings at the end.
How a wiki race works
Everyone starts on the same Wikipedia article and tries to reach the target article by clicking only the links inside the articles. There is no search box. Each link you follow counts, and so does going back. The player who arrives in the fewest links wins, and if two players tie, the faster one is ahead. New to it? Read the rules and a few strategies.
Choosing the articles
A random pair is taken from earlier daily puzzles, so it is always possible and the shortest route is known. Today's daily puzzle lets you compare with everyone else playing it. Or choose your own: a topic from today's lesson, an inside joke, two things that seem to have nothing to do with each other. You can set a limit on links, or play with no limit and let the count decide.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Rooms are free, with no account and nothing to install.
How many people can play in one room?
Up to 60, which is enough for a whole class.
Can we play in another language?
Yes. A room can use Wikipedia in any of 15 languages, whatever language this site is shown in.
What happens to our names and results?
A room keeps the names players type and how each of them did, so the standings can be shown. The room and everything in it is deleted 24 hours after it was opened.
